I look forward to reading more from this author and these wonderful characters he has created. Throw in a humorous ghost of a detective from the 40's and hang for a joyous ride. One can clearly picture a office with Private Eye stenciled on the door, hazy smoke and a beautiful woman (his wife and partner) leaning over his shoulder while he is deep in thought and research. Makes you want to visit, stay at a B&B and go exploring! I really appreciate the way the author stays true to the characters, revealing only enough to suit the story to be told. The wonderful way local history is woven in and handed to the reader to place you right there. Mystery, suspense, a touch of romance and paranormal action blended perfectly together. Members Reviews: Stuart Jaffe has given me back my love of mysteries. All in all, just another day at the office for Max Porter.
He'll need all his team can give with a case that involves the theft of a cursed bell, dark magic, spirit possession, and ghastly murders. Together, they'll face enemies at every turn, and things only get worse when the mysterious Hull family and the FBI start poking into Max's life. Lucky for Max he has the aid of his partner, the ghost of 1940s detective Marshall Drummond, and his sharp-witted wife, Sandra. But a new case brings to light an entire coven of witches - angry, cursed, dead witches.
